This is a video giving some background and history of the National 9/11 flag.
Go HERE to see the news coverage of the flag at the Red Wings game in Rochester NY!
I can't explain how honored I feel to have been a part of such an amazing event! This flag was rescued from Ground Zero and has traveled to all 50 states since the 9/11 attacks. Just before the 10th anniversary of that horrible day, it made its way to my town and was displayed at my fire department! The patches are made of retired flags from various states. This flag was walked out onto the Red Wings field on Saturday after it left our firehouse and will now be kept in the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero. I can say that I SAW THIS FLAG IN PERSON! I TOUCHED THIS FLAG! I SMELLED THIS FLAG! And if that isn't special enough, I HAVE SEWN A STITCH INTO THIS FLAG! Thank you so very much to everyone involved in finding this flag, restoring it, and giving me such an honorable opportunity to become a part of it! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Here is a news clip from that special day.
